Background:
Dr. Wong is a vaccine research scientist and respiratory virologist. She completed postdoctoral
fellowships at the Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute of Florida and the University of Georgia
assessing RSV and influenza vaccine candidates in preclinical trials. In 2016, she joined CDC Influenza
Division, Vaccine Preparedness Team where she oversaw the design and manufacturing of influenza
candidate vaccine viruses under Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) environments and synthesized
prototypical influenza strains using reverse-genetics. She served three COVID-19 Emergency
Response Deployments: Molecular Lab Advisor (International Task Force (ITF)); Study Coordinator
(Laboratory & Testing Task Force (LTF)); and Lead Technical Outreach and Assistance for States Team
(TOAST). With a deep understanding of vaccines and the ever-evolving healthcare landscape,
